Using the correct replacement parts for your pool cover is important and you need pool cover replacement parts that last. The result is a pool cover that functions properly and lasts longer. Materials used in the construction of pool safety cover parts can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. As a result, be very careful when you source your replacement parts.
There are two parts of all pool safety covers that virtually never change. They are the pool safety cover springs and pool safety cover anchors. Because of this, these are the parts that most pool owners are looking for and it is important to buy the correct ones.
Pool Cover Springs and Anchors
Pool safety cover springs are composed of stainless steel. Some manufacturers offer various grades of springs for their covers, so make sure you know which type you are replacing. Some are single springs, which are typically used for standard residential pool safety covers. A double spring, on the other hand, is used in a heavier duty cover (solid with drain hatch or heavier mesh for a residential pool safety cover).
Pool safety cover anchors are typically made of brass. There are two components of each brass anchor which include the cam that screws in to the barrel. This is universal for both concrete and wood installations (wooden decks around their pools). The diameter of the pool safety cover anchor barrel is typically 3/4″ wide. We highly recommend the use of a water core drill to drill the holes for these anchors. This type of drill minimizes chipping to the tile or pool deck finish.
